The Kana-SD doesn't look like it has any
internal storage of its own, but this new MP3 player, which weighs just 30g and
measures 62x47x17mm in size,doeshave an SD/MMC slot
that supports cards up to 512MB.Yes, that big thing sticking
out of the side is a USB jack (it pops out when you want to copy some songs over from a PC), but what we can't figure
out is whether that metal circle dealy is part of the player's controls or not.
The "metal circle dealie" appears to be the PLAY button - I would guess that forward and reverse can be toggled left and right. Volume would be UP and DOWN.
I bought it in Sim Lim Square in Singapore 4 days ago, the brand name is Epraizer instead of Kana, cost me S$80 about US$48. Can be use as an SD card reader/writer, USB 1.1 only, supports MP3 only. Built in 128MB flash memory. Battery usage about 16 hours. Sound quality is good. The metal circle serves as the on/off, play/pause, up/down to skip to previous next track, left/right to increase volume. You don't need to switch on the player to use it as a card reader/writer draws power from the usb port.
I don't see that the mp3 player can last for 16 hours. It will only play for 4 hours on my 1.2 volt rechargable batteries. And make sure you are familliar with the songs you are listening to, since you'll be scrolling around blindly to get back listening once you change the batteries. And the earphones are the only good thing in the packaging.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Looks more like a camera than an mp3 player.
